Your Neurodivergent Child Is Doing More Than You Think

By Alex Lesage

There’s something we don’t say enough.

Your kid is doing more than you think.

Every day.

They’re walking into environments that don’t make sense to them.
Trying to follow rules that keep shifting.
Holding it together when their body wants out.

Quietly.

No applause.
No one saying “I saw that.”

That’s strength most adults don’t have.

And most of the time… it goes completely unnoticed.

Because they don’t always show you the effort.
They show you the aftermath.

The fatigue.
The frustration.
The moments where it finally spills over.

But that doesn’t mean the effort wasn’t there.

It means they used it all up.

So at some point today…

Tell them:

“I’m proud of you.”

Not for results.
Not for getting it right.

For showing up.
For trying.
For doing more than most people will ever realize.

No Shame. No Pity. No Cure Needed.
